About the artist: Esther Kim is an illustrator. She was born in Los Angeles and spent her teenage years in Tokyo. Both cities have been very influential to the development of her aesthetic. Her illustrations have an exuberantly girly style with a keen eye for trends, creating work for Anna Sui, Nylon (Japan and US), Ellegirl Korea, Isetan, Kidrobot, Nissen and Urban Outfitters, among others.

Inspiration: I was inspired by the idea that too much of something sweet and seemingly good can rot your body. Its an idea that I've been interested in: candy rots your teeth, fat clogs your veins and in this land of plenty sometimes we don't even realize that we are being destroyed by our wants being too easily met.
